FLIPPED CLASSROOM AND GRAMMAR TEACHING VIDEO FOR YOUNG LEARNERS
Hello My Dear Followers,
Today I am going to talk about how we prepared a material related to our last topic Flipped Classroom. Flipped classroom is an approach which supports that students can do their own learning when you give them the material so that you can have more class time that you can use to do more activities supporting the topic. For example, you are an English teacher at high school and the topic of the week is gerund-infinitive. You can prepare a video explaining the subject at home. Then, you can send it to the students they can watch it at home before coming to the class. So, you can spend your class time to do activities and spend your time more effectively. This is good for the teachers because their hard work would be less. However, some students may not be able to access such a learning video. So, you have to check which students have which device.
Also, some students may not understand the topic by watching a video about it. They may need more help. Besides all of these things, every teacher should try it and see the results to decide whether they can use it or not.
Our task was creating a grammar teaching video based on the unit we were given. Our target was high school prep classroom students. Our subject was 'Too & Enough'. We used powtoon to prepare our material. It is a great tool except you have to be a premium member to make your work longer than 3 minutes.
It was pretty hard to do because we are not together due to the lockdown and we had some technical problem. I don't have wi-fi. I couldn't help Zeynep doing the editing. I prepared the content. The examples, explaining part etc. And Zeynep did the editing and recording. Here's the video!!!!
